Summary

When famous human musician Melody wakes two thousand years after a nuclear winter, she thinks she’s landed on the right side of a war。 Fae are called the Tainted。 They’re warped, mutated creatures who horde the bounty of the new magical land。 It’s her job in the human city to sling propaganda in the form of daily songs performed to a select tower of elite。

But this position makes her sought after by many, including a ghastly military man, the evil president of the new world, and an enigmatic stranger who turns up at her doorstep asking for help。

Forrest is the good guy—the elf people go to when they want help, no questions asked。 And when he learns he’s the only Guardian with the looks to pass as human, he accepts the job to infiltrate the enemy city and bring a kidnapped fae child home。 He never counted on meeting a woman so extraordinary, he hardly believes she exists。 Melody—the human harbinger—swiftly captures his heart and tempts him out of a long lifetime of celibacy。

As trouble brews within the ranks of the human elite, Forrest and Melody must come to terms with their forbidden desires… and decide which sacrifice is worth the cost—one of their hearts, or one of freedom。

A Song of Sky and Sacrifice is the first installment in the Season of the Elf, but the seventh book in the Fae Guardians series。

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think this may be my favorite of the Fae Guardian books。 Violet and Indigo from book four have always been my favorite couple from the series thus far。 However, I think that Forrest and Melody's story has claimed the place as my favorite in the series。 I instantly liked Melody's character。 Reading about her memories with her mother tugged at my soul。 I appreciated that Lana wrote her as a plus-sized main character; representation in literature matters。 Forr I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think this may be my favorite of the Fae Guardian books。 Violet and Indigo from book four have always been my favorite couple from the series thus far。 However, I think that Forrest and Melody's story has claimed the place as my favorite in the series。 I instantly liked Melody's character。 Reading about her memories with her mother tugged at my soul。 I appreciated that Lana wrote her as a plus-sized main character; representation in literature matters。 Forrest also turned out to be a very dynamic character。 I loved Melody's description of him - like a Viking and a tortured musician。 I feel like I was able to picture what he looked like instantly。 Bottom line: This book is worth reading。 However, if you've made it this far in the series, I probably don't have to tell you that。 Melody and Forrest are easy to love, and the story has good pacing。 Now to wait for the next one! 。。。more

We've finally entered the Season of the Elf, and I couldn't be more pleased。 Not only does this mean we're one step closer to the Season of the Crow (and Cloud's story, omg I am dying, I need that book in my hands), but it also means we get to spend some long overdue quality time with our Elven Fae Guardians of the Well。 Forrest has always fascinated me - the strong, silent type with the absolute biggest heart imaginable, A Song of Sky and Sacrifice kicks off where A Symphony of Savage Hearts en We've finally entered the Season of the Elf, and I couldn't be more pleased。 Not only does this mean we're one step closer to the Season of the Crow (and Cloud's story, omg I am dying, I need that book in my hands), but it also means we get to spend some long overdue quality time with our Elven Fae Guardians of the Well。 Forrest has always fascinated me - the strong, silent type with the absolute biggest heart imaginable, A Song of Sky and Sacrifice kicks off where A Symphony of Savage Hearts ended - the aftermath of Willow's kidnapping and Forrest volunteering to enter the human city on a seemingly impossible rescue mission。 You don't get very many virgin hero romances these days - especially in the fantasy romance genre - but Forrest。。。 my soul bleeds for him。 Him and Melody both。 Where Melody is "seen too much" to the point where not only is every aspect of her person is critiqued and controlled, but nobody seems to truly see or understand her at her core, Forrest is the antithesis - having grown in an environment where he was literally ignored, and the trauma it caused has had him quietly flying under the radar since。 But Melody sees him, and he understands her in the the way she's been needing and craving for so long。 The connection between these two makes my heart ache in the best way - it was so easy to relate to both of them。 I feel like each book has an underlying theme that sort of centers around the heroine's newfound powers, and A Song of Sky and Sacrifice is no exception。 It's all about being heard, about being recognized, about finding your own voice。 I don't want to spoil anything in this book because it deserves to be experienced and enjoyed to the fullest, but suffice it to say, Lana Pecherczyk has knocked another one out of the park。 Like it's predecessors in the series, this book is (in my mind) perfect。 The characters, the story, the continued world-building, the seeds being planted, the twists, the emotions, the soul, the spice。。。 all of it is just excellent。 A Song of Sky and Sacrifice is a worthy addition to what is shaping up to be one of my most favorite fantasy romance series of all time。 Fantastic storytelling。 I can already feel the book hangover settling in。 This series is exquisite。 I can't get enough。 。。。more

3 ⭐️Nothing wrong, but after the vampire season this just felt short。 I thought the plot was a little too predictable in all aspects。 I expected way more from Rory and Willow, yet it was all brief。 The ending felt weird, and especially with Clarke。 I just overall expected more from this。 Nero I expected more scenes, and honestly for more of an "evil" vibe。I did very much enjoy Melody, and I felt her character was kind and I loved seeing her voice come out at the end。 I enjoyed the aspects of the 3 ⭐️Nothing wrong, but after the vampire season this just felt short。 I thought the plot was a little too predictable in all aspects。 I expected way more from Rory and Willow, yet it was all brief。 The ending felt weird, and especially with Clarke。 I just overall expected more from this。 Nero I expected more scenes, and honestly for more of an "evil" vibe。I did very much enjoy Melody, and I felt her character was kind and I loved seeing her voice come out at the end。 I enjoyed the aspects of the autumn court, but I felt no new information was learned from that。 Forrest was sweet and kind to Melody, which was a great foil to her treatment with humans。 。。。more

A Song of Sky and Sacrifice follows Forrest, one of three elves that are a part of the Fae Guardians Cadre of Twelve。 After the events of the last book, Forrest is tasked with infiltrating Crystal City, the stronghold of the human “resistance” in Elphyne。 While on this task, he meets Melody, a human from our time that is being used by the leader of Crystal City to instill fear in the people through singing as propaganda。 Of course from this meeting, Forrest’s plans drastically change。There is so much going on in this book。 We have a sweet, yet sexy romance between Forrest and Melody, a rescue mission that doesn’t go as planned, more world building that kept my attention, and an overall plot that keeps getting more intricate。 You *technically* can start with this book first without reading the other 6 before, however I feel like this will be the last book in this series where that is possible。I am so excited to see where Lana takes this plot and these characters。 If you like post-apocalyptic fantasy romance with a plus sized FMC, a swoon worthy MMC, and intricate plot/world building, this book, and series, is one to check out! 。。。more

One of my favorite things about this series is that it gives me what it needs to give me。 Not only do I love reading about each couple and what they are overcoming but the over all story arc is great too。 I'm not just reading the series for each couple。。。I really want to know how this war will end。 I never paid much mind to Forrest until this book。 Kind of hard to ignore one half of the MCs。 LOL。 His backstory breaks your heart。 How all he does is sacrifice and he's so used to it he does it with One of my favorite things about this series is that it gives me what it needs to give me。 Not only do I love reading about each couple and what they are overcoming but the over all story arc is great too。 I'm not just reading the series for each couple。。。I really want to know how this war will end。 I never paid much mind to Forrest until this book。 Kind of hard to ignore one half of the MCs。 LOL。 His backstory breaks your heart。 How all he does is sacrifice and he's so used to it he does it with minimal complaint, if any。 Melody wakes up in a new world and immediately shuffled off the Crystal City where her head is filled with stories about how evil the fae are。 She has no clue of the power she holds within but President Nero absolutely does and he keeps her locked up like a pretty songbird。 Just like in the six previous books, events happened here that set up for the next book and couple。 There's always a little twist here and there which is what makes the overall story line really freaking good。 。。。more

A Song of Sky and Sacrifice is another deep dive into the beautifully broken world of Elphyne created by the talented author Lana Pecherczyk。 This is book seven of the Fae Guardians series, a post-apocalyptic dystopian novel set 2000 years in the future that has seen the rise of the Fae alongside the small remaining human population。 So far, we have seen the world through the eyes of the Wolves and Vampires and finally we have reached Season of the Elf, starting with Forrest’s book。 Even though A Song of Sky and Sacrifice is another deep dive into the beautifully broken world of Elphyne created by the talented author Lana Pecherczyk。 This is book seven of the Fae Guardians series, a post-apocalyptic dystopian novel set 2000 years in the future that has seen the rise of the Fae alongside the small remaining human population。 So far, we have seen the world through the eyes of the Wolves and Vampires and finally we have reached Season of the Elf, starting with Forrest’s book。 Even though each Season starts at book one, they are very much part of an overarching story in a greater world and I encourage you to begin with book one in Season of the Wolf to fully appreciate this amazing story and world。 From here on in my review will contain spoilers if you have not read Fae Guardians books 1-6。 A Song of Sky and Sacrifice sees Forrest infiltrate the human city in a bid to rescue Willow and return her safely home after she was captured at the end of the last book。 Once in the city he meets Melody, known as the harbinger and who nightly serenades the elite with songs of the Tainted Fae, however 2000 years ago she was a world renown popstar。 I loved the relationship between Forrest and Melody the sweet development of feelings and hot chemistry。 The themes of image, self-perception and belief resonate throughout the story first with Forrest removing his ear tips that distinguish him as ‘Fae’ and then Melody’s weight and body image struggles。 A Song of Sky and Sacrifice sees the brilliant worldbuilding of Elphyne continue to grow this time on the human side, as well as fleshing out more characters。 It was fantastic to get more insight into how the humans have existed since the apocalypse and how Void has maintained his hold。 The secondary characters also play a large role in what makes this series so amazing and I am so intrigued with the direction the Crows and the Sluagh are headed。 A Song of Sky and Sacrifice was a sweet, heartwarming romance between soulmates set in a post-apocalyptic, dystopian world that is at crossroad。 It captures your heart, invites you invest in the world then leaves you hanging for answers。 Even better it’s 100% worth the angst waiting for them。 。。。more

When the ice melted from Melody, a musician from the world before, she was taken to the Crystal City to represent that time。 Teaching her band music and singing about the horrors of the "tainted" to keep those inside the city afraid。 Forrest is on a mission to save Willow who was kidnapped and taken to the Crystal City。 Undercover, he did not expect to meet his Well-Blessed mate。 Together they must find a way back out with Willow and the woman who took Willow- Rory。I can't express enough how muc When the ice melted from Melody, a musician from the world before, she was taken to the Crystal City to represent that time。 Teaching her band music and singing about the horrors of the "tainted" to keep those inside the city afraid。 Forrest is on a mission to save Willow who was kidnapped and taken to the Crystal City。 Undercover, he did not expect to meet his Well-Blessed mate。 Together they must find a way back out with Willow and the woman who took Willow- Rory。I can't express enough how much I love this series。 I'll be honest- I was disappointed that Forrest was before Aeron but I just didn't know how much I NEEDED Forrest's book。Such a gentleman but still knows what he wants。 He's the type of nice guy every girl needs。 Also, reading about Melody's struggle with her body imageresonated with me。 I literally can not wait for Aeron andLeaf's book! One of the things I love is that there is an overarching plot and the world building that is happening in this book。 A lot of Adult Romances that has spice will lack a plot and I love that each book still has that plot or more things that come into play。- Dystopian- Fated Mates- He fell first + harder- Virgin ML- Fae/ElfI received an eArc by being a subscriber to Lana’s patreon。 However, this is still an unbiased opinion。 。。。more

Lana did a great job again 👌👏The first story in Season of the Elf was so good。 It is well written, with interesting, diverse and well-defined characters, well developed world building and has an addicting main plot but with an intriguing & complex subplot that keeps us waiting for the next books in the series。Some things came to surface but there are still more secrets to discover in the future。 Can't wait to read Aeron's book。Thank you, Lana for yet another amazing book ♥️ Lana did a great job again 👌👏The first story in Season of the Elf was so good。 It is well written, with interesting, diverse and well-defined characters, well developed world building and has an addicting main plot but with an intriguing & complex subplot that keeps us waiting for the next books in the series。Some things came to surface but there are still more secrets to discover in the future。 Can't wait to read Aeron's book。Thank you, Lana for yet another amazing book ♥️ 。。。more
